In this month’s forum, publicist and social media consultant Karma Bennett will walk you past the pitfalls of using a blog to promote books. She will give you tips to make blogging  easier, make your posts more engaging, and help your posts get discovered by  search engines.

Without a doubt, the most powerful blogging platform is WordPress, so that’s the content management Karma will use for this walk through. However, you don’t need to have a WordPress blog to learn from this forum. Many of the tips she’ll provide will be helpful to all bloggers. Those on Blogspot, Tumblr, and other services can have a peek behind the WordPress curtain to see what all the fuss is about while still learning a boatload of useful blogging techniques.

In this workshop, you’ll learn:

  • A dozen formatting tips to easily improve the readability of your posts
  • How to properly embed and source images and video
  • Useful websites for easily imbedding audio in posts
  • How to customize your blog with plugins
  • 20 easy-to-install plugins to supercharge your blog with customizations that you’ll wonder how you ever got along without

Don’t miss this information-packed forum!

This happy hour event comes with built-in networking time by the bar before and after the panel, so bring business cards! A complimentary drink ticket is provided, as well as sweet and savory hors d’ouevres from La Boulange.

$20 for members | $35 for non-members
