Insight Editions Seeking Marketing and Publicity Manager

We are a growing and dynamic Marin based publishing company specializing in high-end illustrated books and multimedia products looking for an experienced marketing and publicity manager to join our team. Book publishing industry experience preferred.

Responsibilities:

  • Plan and execute multifaceted marketing and publicity campaigns to increase sales and brand awareness
  • Analyze market trends and recommend marketing and business development strategies
  • Ensure consistent and effective brand positioning across all platforms
  • Liaise with world-renowned licensors to maximize product exposure
  • Manage trade and consumer advertising, co-op, and promotions
  • Oversee creation of marketing materials and content generation, including video production
  • Actively maintain strong relationships with key media and develop strategic partnerships
  • Monitor news and trends to seek out new opportunities and angles, and stay keyed in to current marketing and public relations best practices
  • Create and distribute press releases, producer letters, and other press material
  • Secure quality reviews and media coverage of current titles in trade and consumer media
  • Pitch company news and partnership announcements to media
  • Secure coverage in print and online media, including excerpts, slideshows, Q&As, giveaways and other features
  • Coordinate radio and television interviews with authors, artists, and employees
  • Maintain press list, organize review copy mailings, manage media requests and inquiries
  • Oversee social media platforms and digital partner promotions
  • Attend national trade shows and conventions when needed
  • Schedule and promote launch events at bookstores, museums and galleries
  • Collaborate with sales and marketing team to manage publisher’s online presence by developing digital marketing campaigns, engaging through social media, building consumer email database, and implementing website promotions and SEO strategies to improve traffic
  • Monitor, track and report results to company, sales reps and international partners

Qualifications:

  • Minimum 5 years marketing and/or publicity experience in related industry (book publishing strongly preferred)
  • Experience with Google AdWords, Facebook Ads Manager & Content Editor, and Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel and Powerpoint
  • In-depth knowledge of SEO; demonstrated experience improving search traffic
  • Savvy, knowledgeable and passionate about digital marketing strategies and best practices
  • Extremely detail-oriented, methodical and organized
  • Adept at balancing multiple projects simultaneously
  • Strong quantitative, analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Familiarity with CisionPoint and MailChimp a plus
  • BA required
